Where your data lives
This website is hosted in Canada, in Amazon Web Services’ Canada (Central) region. Your data is kept in Canada by default. If a service your system needs isn’t available in Canada, we tell you before we use it.
In short: Your data stays in Canada by default, and if that ever can’t be, we tell you first.
Where data sits is only one part of privacy. How it is collected, who can see it and how long it is kept matter too, and the law you work under sets the rules for each. That is why we treat hosting as a starting point, not the whole answer.
Built for the privacy law you work under
We design what we build to meet the privacy law your business works under, and we name it with you at the start of a project. The laws we know and build for include:
- PHIPA in Ontario
- HIA in Alberta
- Law 25 in Quebec
- PIPEDA, the federal law that applies across Canada
- PIPA, the private-sector law in British Columbia and Alberta
This is a commitment about how we build. It is not a status, and it does not replace advice from your own legal counsel about your obligations.
Who can see your data
We follow the principle of least access. Each tool, dashboard and agent we build sees only the data it needs to do its job, and we agree with you what that is before we build it.
Where things run
| What | Where it runs | Who looks after it |
|---|---|---|
| This website | Amazon Web Services, Canada (Central) | SolvX |
| Systems we build for you | Your data is kept in Canada by default | SolvX builds, and you own them |
| Email and calls | Google Workspace and Google Meet |
What you own
You own your data and the code built for you. If you ever move on, you take both with you, and nothing is held back.
